Searching for the Best Swimsuits on Amazon in 2021 // Review

On a recent trip to Civana Wellness Resort and Spa, the back strap of my beloved bikini top broke, leaving me in desperate need of a new swimsuit. I loved that thing and would have just repurchased it, but it’s out of stock in my size. Given that 1. Swimsuits are one of those items you really have to try on to know if it looks good, and 2. I had purchased mine on Amazon years ago, I figured Amazon was the best place to start looking.

This is my review of 12 Amazon-only swimsuits I tried on based on my research of top rated, stylish swimsuits. Pardon the scrunched faces and awkward angles—shooting backwards is hard.

For fit reference, I’m 5’ 2”, 100 lbs, and a 34B. I typically wear size 0 or XS.

Cupshe Cross Padding Bikini Set // wearing an XS

This swimsuit was probably my favorite! It was super easy to put on and sufficiently padded. Maybe it’s because I’m partial to this style? It doesn’t have the same push up support that my old one did, but it felt supportive enough that I could move around freely. I don’t know that it would stand up for bustier gals. I also find the print super cute!

Sporlike V-Neck Ruffle Bathing Suit // wearing an S

I currently have a thing for ruffles (and leaves, apparently?), and found this suit to be super cute as well! It has a pretty deep V, which is a little hard to see in the photos, but is still conservative. The suit is a little long on me, so there’s some scrunching in the side body, but otherwise, I really liked this suit.

Shekini Halter Bandage Bikini // wearing an XS

I love how fun this suit is! I really like how bright the yellow is, and think the lemon print is adorable. Unfortunately, the padding cups on this were a little misshapen, which wasn’t very flattering, and they were obvious because of the suit’s color. If you can keep the pads from getting bent, I think this is a great one.

Cupshe Wrap Top Bathing Suit // wearing an S

The reviews for this suit mentioned the gap in the bikini top, and I would echo those comments—the gap was a little weird. I love how supportive this top is, though—it has underwire and is more of a push-up than any of the others.

Cupshe Deep V Neck Bathing Suit // wearing an XS

I loved how I felt in this suit—the cut and color are sexy, and the material is great. The straps that come over the shoulders can also be configured in different ways, making this suit a little more versatile. It does feel, however, like a suit one sits in by the pool, not one for jumping around playing beach volleyball. I was also impressed that the bottom half didn’t scrunch up much, even though I’m petite. Coverage in the top area, though, might be weak when sitting, forcing you to either sit up straighter, or tug at it all day.

Cupshe Ruffle Tie V Neck Bikini Set // wearing an XS

I’ve also been having a moment with green, and this suit shows it. The color + ruffles = <3. I felt that this swimsuit was a little too sporty, the top not as flattering, and the bottoms a little too cheeky, so this was a no from me.

Cupshe Ruffle Deep V Neck Bathing Suit // wearing an S

Here’s that green + ruffles again! I think this would have been a lot cuter if I were taller, but I found the top line came up too high, and the back scrunched up too much. Maybe if I had sized down? I really wanted to like it, though!

Cupshe V Neck Mesh One Piece // wearing an XS

Who doesn’t love a classic black swimsuit? Is that akin to an LBD? If not, it should be. I loved the deep V and scallop detailing on this suit (sorry it’s hard to see in these photos), but found it a little too long for me.

Mooslover One Shoulder High Waisted Bikini Set // wearing an S

I loved this design on the model so much I bought it in black and red to try it. Unfortunately, the top was too loose on me (and didn’t feel supportive enough on my left side), and the bottom was too loose as well, bunching weirdly between the sides. I didn’t even bother trying on the red one. Honestly, if they had an XS, I would order that to try it on because I love this design that much—too bad they don’t.

Cupshe Scalloped Edges Bikini Set // wearing an XS

I think this was my second favorite suit! M doesn’t like the line that runs down the bikini top, but I don’t hate it, and the scalloped edges are to die for. I liked some other prints better, but overall, this suit was a winner—supportive and flattering.

Cupshe Floral Bottom Ruffle Bikini Set // wearing an XS

This suit was another fun one! I was a fan of the print, ruffle detailing and the lower rise on this suit. The line in the bottoms is a small, see through gap, but I didn’t find it too revealing.

Cupshe Wrap Color Block Tie Bathing Suit // wearing an S

This suit was probably the least flattering of the lot. I thought I’d love the color block and high waisted floral print, but I think it just made me look chunky. The yellow part of the suit is also translucent, so you can see the band underneath. No thanks.

Honestly, swimsuits are so hard. I’m not sure I’ve found the perfect one, so please DM me with your thoughts! Where do you shop for swimsuits? And how do you decide which is the best one? Would love your thoughts on this topic!
