20 Photos to Inspire You to Visit // Ireland
Before I visited Ireland, I didn’t know what to expect. But I found the countryside to be breathtakingly beautiful, in an unreal mix of California, Hawaii, and Iceland. The coastal vistas bring me back to California’s Highway One, the jagged mountains scrape the clouds like Kauai’s jurassic mountains, and the loping green mountainsides are taken straight from Iceland.
The mountains, too, are divided by stacked stones into plots of land where sheep and cows, which outnumber the people who live in Ireland, roam and graze freely. There really is nothing like it, and despite the wet weather that dampens the island, even in the heart of summer, there’s something mystical and magical about the place.
